More oil issues

Noticed something odd the other day...

Under heavy braking one day, the oil pressure dropped to nil and the light came on, as soon as I lifted off and put foot to gas pedal again the oil pressure came back up to 50ish. Checked dipstick, about 2/3rds full. Stuck an extra half litre in and all ok for a few days and then it did it again two days ago...

Any ideas?

I would drop the oil and measure how much is in it, see if the dipstick is right.

Be worth asking Jes Firth as I believe he broke his engine doing exactly the same thing (heavy braking caused oil loss).

I'm going for the oil pressure relief spring.

Unless it does it on a sharp left bend, then it's low oil.

Actually cornering to the right causes more issues. I know my sump plug isn't standard and it's leaking but the oil pressure is fine normally, it's just this occasional dropout on braking or cornering.

Well it's already gonna need two new rear disks and a master cylinder... better get Leven to check the oil. BTW, new cerby disks are rarer than rocking horse sh1t. Hate to ask but anyone written one off recently and want to sell me the rear disks?

That's worrying about brakes disks as padsthese days wear the disks significantly.

Is this a short term problem?

Are we on about the old standard disks or the drilled Tuscan ones ?

When mine went, they replaced them with the drilled ones.

are the standard f&r solids not AP kit then?

Suppose we'd better add it to the list then if thats the case.
