Help Petrol leak

Hi hoping you can help me just getting my car ready for the 1st day back on the road after 6 months of storing it away started it up moved it and there was a petrol on the floor it seems it only leaks when the car is running it stops when you turn it off coming from the back and it alot any ideas

Perhaps a split hose downstream of the pump. It's an obvious fire hazard so I'm sure you won't be switching it on again until you've cured the leak.

The pump and fuel filter are mounted in the near side rear wheel arch. You will have to jack it up and take the wheel off to gain access.

If you need to remove the filter to replace the hoses you will have to remove the carbon can first. Both are fastened to the wheel arch with brackets.

Access to the bolts is via the helmet hole. The bolts are behind the rear passenger seat so stick your head and a arm up to the shoulder into the helmet hole to get access to the bolts.

A small mole grip clamped on the nuts in the wheel arch allows you to do it solo but a second pair of hands is very useful

The fuel pump is bolted via a bracket to the main chassi rail.

If you are going to crack the fuel lines to replace something I would suggest a damn good clean with a degreaser of the various bits before you start disconnecting anything.

Cheers everyone pipe from the fuel filter split not as bad as i thought got a company in letchworth to make one up £30

You might want to check the rest of the pipes, as the main lines run through the tunnel above the exhaust and they have been known to develop cracks which isn't good......

Take a look at the end of the pipe where it joins the regulator in the engine bay, if tiny cracks are showing when you bend it needs replacing....
