Door button again please help

Nice day today so thought id get the cerb out to do a few minor bits, first the drivers door window wasnt working so off came the inner door panel and found the micro switch displaced, sorted that window now works better than befor fully sealing and a bit quicker on the up with the aid of some lube. Door panel back on, window works a treat, door button inside works fine but now the door button on the outside does nothing, so door panel off again all connectors cleaned and free from corrosion nicly done with contact cleaner, door panel back on again!!!! Still not working from the out side any ideas where to go next to get it going again.
Any help would be greatly received as its confusing me and im smoking to many fags and scratching my head too much now.

Just taken the mirror off to check the switch looks good no corrosion, the two wires to the switch do not even open the door if brigded without using the switch, where do i turn now, please help.

r7oky - can't think of anything obvious apart from it appears the outside switch isn't getting any power, so re-check all the internal door connections, especially the main on that connects the Door loom to the Car loom

might sound daft but what does the main loom look like where might i find it amongst all the others, guess what...........the inner door panel is off yet again, good job its a nice day.

You've probably found it without knowing it, when you take the inner panel off, the main loom is the one that you have to disconnect to move the inner panel away from the car. clean all the connections inside, and make sure all the wires going into the connectors are tight.

Check the switch is working on the door mirror using a multimeter. if that is ok them it has to be the connection into the loom in the door. I guess the switch has gone in the mirroe, either the seitch itself or the contact on the top.

I changed my switches because they sat in water when it rained and didnt take lone to fail.

Ok been at it all day well nearly, nearly big smiles drivers door working tip top better than ever windows work, inside door button works, outside door button works very chuffed.
Then i decided to look at the passenger door as that has been a little faulty, got the inside button working and the outside button working but hers the but when the oustide or inside button is pressed the door open but window fails to drop and catches the pillar.
Any ideas what i need to look at to get the window to drop prior to the door opening?

I have had similar problems. After a while the wires break. I have succesfully had the speaker wires replaced (I had someone else do those for me)and I replaced the external door switch wires. It is the continual opening of the doors (particularly for obvious reasons the drivers door) and the shoddy wires TVR used. Symptoms are: external door switch operates door lock solenoid (you can hear it) when you press the external switch WITH THE DOOR OPEN or half open but not when it is closed or maybe not at all. The inner switch is a separate circuit as you can press the console switch to lock the doors i.e prevent people outside the car opening the doors but leaving hte inner door switches operating.
