The fastest.......Cerbera or Tuscan??????
Discussion
Hi to all, firstly i am not talking about on paper, but on 'road' speed!! The other day i was out cruising along heading into Bournemouth, when i was awoken by a loud black tuscan coming up behind me. I let him pass me giving him the usual TVR handwave!! and then realising he wanted to play we headed out towards Poole on the Wessex Way. As we both left a roundabout, we accelerated and upon acceleration we were both the same speed....IS THIS RIGHT????......We got upto the ton figure and there was no way i could of overtaken him!! I was gob smacked!!
I knew the Tuscan was quick, but thought my Cerbie was quicker, am i being bias??

When was the last time your ride was dyno'd? get it dyno'd firstly... to know what the power output 'actually' is... then approach any one of the tuners out there to remap and more... shouldnt cost you more than a grand to get as close as the full 400 horses on a 4.5 and 360 on a 4.2....
Also, assuming here, but practice burning the tyres a little on the straight in the lower gears and master the acceleration up at 7000rpm in gear 2 and 3.... you'll soon see that a Tuscan has NO CHANCE.... be prepared though, theres a little torque hump low down that catchs most out and you end up going home in a friendly bobbies ride.... thought 2 tuners have produced maps to smooth this out....
but there are some 'fettled' Tuscans out there with lunatic drivers who have mastered the art of all-out low-gear accleration and control who most probably will give most cerbs a good run for their money.... I've had one up against me a few years back, one hell of a driver, god knows who it was...

This shouldn't be the case. When we went on our drive-out, Nat said that the Cerb was definitely pulling away from his RR Tuscan.....

Do'nt expect to see much one way or other till getting on for 150 lepton's my friend then we are into big ball territory
You could just satisfy yourself by wasting 99% of the rest of the motoring world, have no quarms on that score myself am quite happy to 'educate' the non TVR fraternity as to what is what, did so today, some guy in a 3.2 tt convertible [i think they just want to see how fast TVR's are]seemed like a nice guy though

Evening William.
Bit of a sweeping statement.

evening young john, do you disagree with the %.
Are you still 'showing your face' at croft on monday
The reality here is; weight and rate. The Cerb weighs more than 100Kg more (8%) and the rating of the AJP 8 was usually hopelessly optimistic unless re-mapped, fettled and possibly re-chipped. The Speed 6 makes 350-360bhp straight out of the box and can be improved, in 'S' form it reaches 400bhp. Do the maths, a 4.2 unsorted will struggle against a Tuscan.
I had a well sorted Mk 1.1 Tuscan and now have a well serviced and cared for Speed 6 Cerb, the Tuscan was, for my money, frightenly faster, but I have also been a passenger in a very well sorted 4.5 Cerb on the 'Ring - different warp altogether

Well 99% seems a bit high and you did say motoring world. Looks like I will be at Croft but sadly I can't get my hands on that Cossie.
I'll be leaving my place at 10 tomorrow if you fancy a play.

What with your focus?
Going away for the night tomorrow[does that make sense]
On the subject of the mythical sierra, does the term 'can't polish a turd' apply

No, Big Red, between the two roundabouts Sunday morning tomorow....
Got plenty of autosol.

Like i said 'you can't polish a turd'
Even in the event of the sierra being quicker[not a walkover by any means] i still would'nt be seen dead in one!

Sorry Cerb le, bur i'm going to have to say that the Tuscan is faster! IMO feels alot quicker than the cerb anyway! and handles better!
Not so sure about the handling, definetly would'nt put my name to that
Probably feels alot quicker because it handles so bloody nervously.
Werent early Tuscans notorious for wanting to swap ends beyond 100mph? I swear I heard of one spinning at 150 in a straight line or something stupid like that on an airfield once. The Tuscan2 is a different kettle of oversteer, but I've never really thought much of the Tuscans handling from what owners have said on here. Still, I bet its a fun challenge.
Both cars are extremely quick, the differences would be negligeable... ...but I'd still rather put money on the Cerb beyond 100, especially if its a 4.5.
