Thinking of moving on...

Well I've had the Cerb for 3.5 years now and I'm thinking of moving on to something else. In an ideal world I'd keep it and get something else, but the figures don't work out like that.
I've had a poke round a BMW Z4 M Coupe but not a test drive yet. Weight is greater and torque is lower, but apparently it's still all lightweight flywheel and hair-trigger throttle. Anyone on here driven or owned one?
Can always return to the fold in the future, of course. I always fancied a T350, just a pity it had the wrong engine in

A girl who works for me has a Z4M, she has had nothing but trouble and her dealer is a right pain. Only person I know who has a BMW, so not much of a fair outlook.
Noooooooo..!! As the only other Cam7er on here I rely on you for your (un)balanced view on the car I'm still only becoming accustomed to. 
Seriously, shame if you do move on Carl. I admit I've been looking at other cars within my price range (Ultima) but I find I am unable to let a car go until I've turned it into the car I always wanted. Buggering about with cars is what makes me tick. Now that this community has identified most of the spares needed to keep Cerbs on the road, I think it's the perfect project car. Knowing what we do from Cam7, I think there's potential aplenty. For sure I shall be looking for a new engine to play with and (budget willing) I intend to see if a Cerb can make a GPS-certified 200mph.

Seriously, shame if you do move on Carl. That's great, but I'm not a project car person. I can barely hang a picture straight. I'm more of a "turn the keys and go" kind of person I like the Z4 to look at but it didn't fill me with much joy when I passengered in one. I rather like the Shelby Daytona recreation. No idea how much they are though.
I'll either stick with the Cerb until the new Marcos is available at more real-world prices, or just go for an Ultima. Long-term I can't help thinking the Ultima is the way forward.
Particularly as our mate Jim is selling his Noble right now 
Really need something that the missus can also drive without punting it into a hedge. The other thing about Nobles is that (IMHO) it looks like the sort of car a 5-year old would draw, and the dials can be bought from the Demon Tweeks catalogue.
Z4 looks a bit like the new Marcos but cheaper.

It's funny, now you've said about Demon Tweeks, I remember that you've said that before. You're right about the dials, maybe also about the overall style too.
The instruments I can overlook although my fave is aircraftlike early porsche! I think I'd struggle with the overall look if I didn't like it, but I do like the Noble, even if it is a bit simplistic.
Funnily enough it's the front view of the Z4 that I struggle with.

Yes, me too -- in fact for all of the Bangle designs. I'd have to park it nose-first in the garage so I didn't see that part. Got a test drive booked for tomorrow. Maybe I'll hate it anyway, in which case it's back to the drawing board.
That one looks like its got a couple of ridges down the bonnet too which would be good on the production car. Maybe v shaped dimple or an m3 bonnet lump type thing would trick the eye into not seeing its wide flatness.
Does the z4M have the same bonnet as the 3.0? as I've only seen the 3.0 in the flesh
