interior light switching unit

Hello

all my interior lights (dash lights, button lights, etc, etc) have stopped working again!

i think its the control box under the passenger side dash, the ones that hidden away and has 4 relays in it

does anyone have a spare box i could try out before i get a new one?

well heres and update

after many many fun hrs with a mulit meter i have found that the "interior lighting box" was not what i thought it was and was actually the wiper control box! bloody worn out tvr stickers....


anyway, im still no closer to solving the problem

none of the interior lights work at all, so no dash, door buttons, etc etc and neither do the sidelights work (just the front ones!)

so any ideads anyone? would it be the lighting control box as i have checked this and there appears to be no visible signs, what controls turning the interior lights on (by interior lights i mean ALLLLL the cockpit lights lol! its like a stealth fighter inside now, not a light in site!)?

I know there are at least 2 boxes that control lights, one under the dash drivers side and one in the boot for the dim/dip bit. I've got a crazy issue on mine where the sidelights are permanently on and the interior lights need to be turned off as dont go out when doors shut. I've swapped the dim/dip box but that didnt sort it. I'm waiting for the under dash one from tvr carparts. will see if that sorts it!

Hi !

First, have you checked fuse 2 and 8.

The interior light is controlled by the door/window control unit, you find it in the boot above the petroltank. I don´t think you have a problem with the controlbox though, i think the problem is in a connector somewhere in the car.

I looked at the wiring diagrams and in the workshop manual and came to this:
Is it possible that you have had some water coming in behind the righthand rear pass seat, you could have a problem with the multiconnectors that is behind that seat. You can come in behind the seat by removing the helmet pod between the back seats. To remove it, unscrew the vingnut you can find in the middle of the car above the tank in the boot.

thanks for the reply! much appreciated

i dont think ive made myself clear though, by the interior lights not working i dont meant the little ones that turn on when you open the door, i mean alllllllllllllllllll the lights inside the cockpit, so this includes...

The dash lights
the door button lights
the window button lights
the main light switch light

and for some reason the front side lights dont work

the lights that work on the dashboard are the the warning ones that are connected direct to the ecu, so these are the indicator lights, the ice warning, mil, gear change light, low oil level etc etc.

but none of the others do!

ive had a look through those diagrams and there a great help, but i cant seem to find the master illumination wire for the dashboard/master cockpit lights

so as you can imagine its a bit dark in there at night!
