Cerb engine cutting out

SP6 (2000 model) with replacement engine 2500 miles ago (this was new as at Dec 05 and put in by TVR). Unfortunately it cuts out every now and again shortly after warming up. It starts again and and is then OK. Still annoying though. It did have it's 1,000 mile service after the new engine/rebuild and this was also done by TVR.

Apart from this the car has been fantastic.

Any ideas.

Hi !

I can see that you are new to this forums. I also have a Cerb S6 that was rebuilt in august 2005 by the factory.

I suggest that you get the TVR diagnostic software and connect a PC/laptop to the car to see if you have any fault codes in the ECU.
If not i guess a complete setup of the engine with throttle balancing will help. I have done this by myself on my car, if you are a little familiar with engines it aint that hard to do.

A bit technical for me - I have a laptop but connecting it to the ECU is likely to be a challenge as I don't know where to find it or how to connect to it.. Also, I don't want to make any silly mistakes...

I've downloaded your zip file though.. I now throw myself at your mercy for more advice on how to do this if you have the time..

its a long shot, but have a look at the little key, make sure its turned fully, just had the same with mine cutting out as driving, then leave it a min and it would start again.

Ah the software and the cables and the diagnostics. Oh how I spent a happy 7 days working it all our, rewiring cables etc.

Basically you need a laptop, the software and a standard straight through serial cable, or follow the wiring (hum - must add that to the website). - Sorted - done

The really good point to note is that either the car must be running or ready to run i.e. use the 'blipper' to turn off the imobiliser. That one caught me out!

Ta - It's work in progress but much helped by people sending me stuff.
