massive understeer problem!!!

after going to bedford autodrome on saturday i've realised that on track my car understeers very badly especially when tyres get hot. anyone had similar problems? i have nitrons set almost fully hard and have S03's up front and have never had understeer this bad before! i've done quite a few track days before with the same set up and don't remember having the problem this bad before. i'm thinking it could need a bit more negative camber up front to help hold a tighter line, or maybe i just need to start using trackday tyres!

has anyone had similar problems and found a fix?

SO3's and Hard seem to be the things that stand out there to me.

How soft is the rear set? Could that be too soft and the front too hard? It'll just blast itself off the track like that.

also how old are you SO3s?

Does it just understeer in slow corners i.e. hairpins or fast corners as well?

If it's only the slow speed corners it happens quite a lot to me when you're starting to push hard. Any suspension set-up is a compromise of course on any given circuit, I usually set mine up for high speed cornering ability where the car is fairly neutral and then modify my driving style a bit to minimise any slow speed corner understeer. I find a very late turn in for hairpins works best, go deep on the brakes and scrub off excess speed, get a nice quick positive turn in then straighten up quickly with power on for oversteer on exit.

SO3's are not that old so still alot of tread which doesn't help too much, nitrons were set at 20 from soft all round then fully hard later, i might try them a bit softer at the front see if that helps. understeer was not much of a problem from cold but got much worse with tyre temperature and was affecting faster corners as well as slow. i reduced tyre pressures a few times gradually which helped but when temperature got up again, same problem. going to see andy at apm friday so will hopefully get a good set up together ready for the weekend away at the nurburgring!!!

but i think some track day tyres on a spare set of 17's are needed, so if anyone knows some one with some old rims.............
