HELP! ... police going to tow car if I can't shut alarm up!

My alarm is going off contiuiously, and the German police are threatening to tow it away in 20 minutes if I can't shut if up!
Got back to car and it was making a continuious high pitched noise. If I press the key fob the alarm goes off normally and the lights flash. Pressing the key fob again just makes it switch between these two modes! Anyone got some good tips of shutting it up?????

Mine's a 99, and was slightly different to how you described (so maybe a mk2?), but by a process inspired by your instructions I got the damn thing to shut up!(would never have found it without your help)
Luckily the German police hadn't reappeared by the time it was silenced, so no problem with it being towed.
Now I just need to apologise some more to my German friends neighbours who had to listen to it for 5 hours this afternoon while we were out, and to book it in for a new siren when I get home

Equally, however, the information appeared to be requested in response to a genuine situation and would be of little use to you unless you were already in the car with a toolkit, as well as having no effect on the immobiliser.
If I see a anyone looking shifty around my car with the door swinging open and them giving it large on the laptop with a flatbed truck in the background then I'll be right back on here with my tail between my legs.

Indeed, however. Over time. Information on how to get it, how to disarm the immobiliser and how to silence the alarm have all been posted on here.
It would not take a rocket scientist to put all that together and some of the scallies out there are fairly switched on.
As for genuine request, well I'd take any request like that with a pinch of salt. You never know who's behind a keyboard. You only have to look at some of the characters that have appeared on PH over the years.

why nick a cerbera? its a shitty poor mans sports car that falls apart every chance it gets. Porkas are easier to pinch and hold better cost on the open market....

ps. joy-riders? my advice, take out the ignition box, and install a tracker in the sump with a gyro-powered battery pack, done deal, if you're worried about 10ks worth of glassfibre.
