Puple pipes loose...

Seen a couple of posts on those purple pipes coming loose. Gripes about the usual jubilee style clips not working etc.

I have one (in particular) that comes loose regularly.

Anyone got any experience in dealing with that? I'm thinking:

New pipes?
Short induction kit?
New clips?

Oh - and how serious is it if one does come loose and doesn't get noticed for a while. My take is that the engine simply gets fed a) warm, b) unfiltered, and c) low pressure engine bay air? But not the end of the world?

mine came off constantly, don't worry too much, but i would address the airboxes if they've been crushed.

If you want a handy performance gain at the same time consider the TCS short induction kit. The new version is now supposed to be easier to fit, though I didn't do mine myself.

Otherwise check that the air box ports and the hoses themselves are intact and get some new clips. I have seen cable ties used instead of hose clips.
