Does anyone have any idea what car/manufacturer the sump plug from a 4.5 Cerb comes from?
My local TVR dealer does'nt have one. Neither does another 3 I tried. And TVR Power don't have any. So it looks like I'm fu&^*ed on the main dealer front.
Tried my local motor factors yesterday, and they did'nt have anything that matched it. As the pitch was different? Its a metric 16mm plug.
Thanks

Just a stab in the dark, but for some reason I recall the name Renault being mentioned.
When I went to the car spares yesterday, there was a Renault/Peugeot 16mm plug there, but the pitch was wrong.
After a 28 thousand calls today, and no closer to getting one, I found out that TVR most likely tooled that part too, along with the AJP....
Its not looking too rosey at the moment. But then I am used to $hit luck.

It will be a standard pitch, we can thank Mr Whitworth for that.
As a last resort go to a fastner suppliers and ask them to match it.

Yep, pop down to machine mart and buy a thread pitch gauge, only a few quid. And get some digital verniers when you're there. Measure the outside diameter of the plug, then find which thread pitch it is, either whitworth or metric (Al Melling didn't use a standard system on the AJP, so its pot luck) by using the thread pitch tool. Then find a look up chart on the internet (if you know the outside diameter and the pitch, you can read off the bolt), and hey presto you'll see which size bolt you need. You can buy any similar bolt off the net, namrick are very good. I'd pull mine out and do the sums for you, but I'm not due an oil change for 5000 miles yet
