Any chance someone might look at the attached pics of one of the control boxes in the boot of my 98 4.2 and check to see if the plugs are inserted in the correct sockets. I think 3 are interchangeable and I am doubting my own competence in putting things back the way they came out. All to do with the cutting out issue I had yesterday.

Many thanks

It seems ok compared to mine(4.5 ,1998). Though if it's the same as mine - it's labled as "The Door Lock/ Window Control Unit", and i can't see that being the cause of your problems - but then again it's a TVR ,anything seems viable. Best of luck ,Pete.

I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one
Is the boot solenoid housed inside the Window/doors control box or is it a separate piece of kit - just in case!!!! banghead

Its the boot mech that you hear clicking when opening the boot...behind the number plate in the boot

There's got to come a time when these become in short supply surely.

Has anyone got the schematics to these? They can't be too hard to fix.

Dont know where my reply went!!

The solenoid is what clicks when you open the boot. In the boot behind the number plate.
