Is buying a Speed 6 Cerb a good move? I have heard both horror stories and good bits in equal measures but need some advice for the experienced to help me decide. All help greatly appreciated.

Not highly recommended around these parts. The 4.5 AJP is the safest option - well I would say that when I have one for sale in the classifieds!

some would say that its just not cricket putting the s6 in a cerb ajp's the best and all. i bought an s6. i drove both variants and chose it because as a day to day car (i use it a lot) i feel its easier to live with. i know there are some reliability/build quality problems, but read a few recent threads because as good as the ajp is it can still blow up. if you choose an s6 make sure its had documented work on it.

Ive owned all three models and I agree that the SP6 is the easiest & most usable day to day car.
They really need to be FSH, and the most important thing is warming up the engine before doing anything .Get one checked over by someone who is an expert in these cars, even if that costs you travelling money on top. The SP6 feels great in a Cerb, and mine would wheelspin in the dry at 50 mph in 3rd gear biglaugh
I did 4K miles in it & it never missed a beat -it also did 28 mpg vs 19mpg for my 4.2
