Has anyone tried putting 40's on the front instead of 35's, i just think the 225/35-18's look a bit elastic bandy, plus 40's would ride better and offer better pothole protection.

Yes, did this very thing last week. They fit fine and protect the wheels better. They don't look too balloony. I went with Pirellis. Tramlining eliminated too, although this is probably just because they're new.

Yep did this on mine when I fitted the 18's, had no problems and the tyre wall looks a better match to the rear tyre wall size. Protects the alloys a bit more to.
