Crashed the Cerbera
Discussion
Hey all,
I came off the road today on the wet surface and ended up in a bush at the side of the A1231 from the A19.
Luckly im not hurt, but the car is. Looks like it needs a new front end, few scratches on the passenger side and maybe a new radiator.
Does anyone know how much the front end is for a 1998 Cerbera? and is the side panels part of the front bumper?
Thanks
Mark

As far as I know, it's one big blob of plastic.
For bad repairs, they normally cut it into quarters.
So AFAIK they'll ever build up from your surviving glass, or if you've destroyed it, they'll stick a new front quarter / new front end on.
I await to be corrected
Can I ask, was you accelerating when you left the road ?

Try Julian at Fibreon ltd www.damagedtvrs.co.uk According to the site its a grand for the plastic plus obviosly fitting and painting. sorry to hear about the stack mate!
i was doing about 20-30mph i even changed up a gear so i didn't run into higher revs, and i set off 30mins early i wasnt rushing.
i would of been accelerating but not much
the bottom the front has broke off, and a chip has came out of the passengers side wheel arch.
If anyone lives in sunderland, i think it will be in the Sunderland Echo, photograper was there, bloody checky bastard

The common "off" on here, seems to be
"for the rear wheels to spin on acceleration, the back slips out, you panic & come off the revs, and the car snaps back the other way, sending you fishtailing"
However, yours sounds more like a simple bit of aquaplaning.
As long as you're alright, that's the important thing.
The car...., unless the chassis is damaged, which is quite hard to do at that speed, It's more likely they'll repair it.
Good luck

Doesnt sound a million miles away to the damage we did at Harewood hillclimb.
Quite probably fixable yourself, but hard work and long hours to get right, with alot of cutting away of seemingly good panels to avoid crazing problems etc etc... You'll need paint on top of that though, which is where the real expense is.
If its an insurance jobbie they may write it off.
