Yesterday was really the first time I got to drive the cerb for longish distance in the heat, I can't help but think that this cold air vent is in a really poor place. On mine it sits behind the leather bottom cowling under the wheel - basically only half of it is exposed (poor air flow) and its really tough to open/close due to its placement. However, I just looked at a cerb on the calssifieds and this one comes through a hoe in the middle of the cowling which looks far more sensible, the ad is www.pistonheads.com/sales/160637.htm.

Where does your vent come out? Mine feels fixes solid so not sure it it can be easily moved without breaking anything. My car is a 99 4.5 by the way.

Same model, same year, same vent. The one in the add looks to be in a much better place though so sweaty feet for us then.

You need to remove that leather cowling, or just loosen it so it can be move, (one wing nut on the transmission tunnel side, and another one on the inner wwing in the footwell on the right) The cold air outlet should locate in a semi circle cut out in the leather cowling, once you have a look you will see what I mean. It probably just feels solid because it is wedged in tight by the cowling which has been re-fitted incorrectly.

I must have a friday 5pm car where they never bothered to cutout the semi-circle from the edge of the cowling. I did take it off once before but the vent was stuck solid and I was worried about braking it! I suppose i'll have to be brave and pull the leather back, cut a piece out of the cowl and re-glue then. Sounds like another project for the weekend!
