Well i've just dynoed a car with a lightweight flywheel which shows a small but worthwhile hp gain at the wheels on an accelration run on the dyno, and there's a lightweight sintered paddle slutch coming soon aswell .. so might be right up your street? have a word with your engine builder later this week after I've seen him

Very interesting Julian.
Roughly how much is a new lightweight flywheel though?
Guys,
Anyone know if any kits offer stronger clutches?
Are these Clever Trevor kits worth looking at or are they no better
than standard?

Orignal clutched re an effort to get though via stock IIRC?
I've heard the test rig (whatever it was) abused the CT clutch and it held up fine. So I have one in mine now, fitted by Leven.
And it hasn't broken.
ahhhh feck I've said it now.

What dyno was that on? Is it a "Mass" dyno where it calculates hp from the rate of change of sped of the dyno drum?
A lightened flywheel won't give any more horsepower as such. It will improve acceleration times and change of speed of the engine which can imporve driveability (on a car that's driven hard). As far as physical power goes you're not reducing the friction or improving airflow with a macheancial part such as a flywheel so physical power can't really be affected.
