brake pad changing - help needed !!
Discussion
Had a look at the front calipers on my Griff which has Cerbie brakes - it's the 4 pot AP (3036C type) pad. How does one remove the pads? It looks like you have to somehow 'ping' the large metal retaining clip off and then drift out the two pins thru the tiny holes? Didn't want to try in case I bent something - if anyone can advise the correct way that'd be great. ta

I would be worried that if you're that unsure about how to remove brake pads then maybe you should get a dealer/indi to do it.
If you do do it yourself double check everything, and retorque every bolt, it's not worth making a mistake with your brakes.

thanks kevin - I wondered if that's the easiest approach. will give it a go.
and thanks Tim - yes I do know how to remove brake pads but have not come across these AP calipers before so thought it sensible and time saving to ask for tips rather than just dive in. the spring clips in particular don't seem to have an obvious removal method hence the question.

There is one central bolt running across the caliper that has a metal sleeve around it. Remove the bolt and the sleeve and the spring plate then comes out. No need to remove the caliper at all.
Don't forget to push the pistons back with the old pads in and ensure that all the old dust is out before slipping hte new pads in.
I found my pads weren't a great fit so I tidied the edges up with a file first.
