As of yesterday I'm a proud owner of a 4.2 -96 Cerbera! I'm very pleased with the car, but I might have a problem.
I noticed that when I cruse along the highway the engine temperature reads about 80 (oil pressure slightly below 60). If I give it some gas for a few seconds (4500 - 5000rpm) I notice an increase of the engine temperatures to about 95 in just a couple of seconds. I know that the gauge isn't precise and these high temperatures are normal, but is the quick increase of the temperature normal??

Otherwise, the car runns great and looks great! Now I just have to register it here in sweden.

Nope, I'd check for an airlock. Bleed screw on the corner of the rad and 2 on the top rails (careful as these may well be seized up and snap off/pick up the thread).

Hi Zoltan !

It feels nice to know that there is another Cerbera here in Sweden now . It should be 3 or 4 now.
Hope you join the Swedish TVR club and that we meet at some of the club events in the summer.
I have plans to go to the trackday at Gellerasen on the 30th of april.

Here is a useful page if you plan to work on your car by yourself:

ridds: Thanks for the tip, I hope it's just that.

Peppe: Of course I'll join the TVR club Although, I don't think I can make it to Gelleråsen, there are some minor issues with the car that I'll have to fix before attempting to register the it. I'll be in touch.

Or your Rad might be blocked with crud, when the engine has to work harder the rad just cant keep up. I had a R5 turbo did excactly the same thing once. Re core would sort this problem.

Also check the routing of capillary tube from the gauge, the standard position is ty-wrapped to the water pipe above the exhaust....

Best to move it elsewhere away from the hot stuff for a more reliable reading
