Anyone know why I have blue brake fluid?

Is it a special type?

Cheers

I'd guess at ATE Super Blue? Allegedly a fairly cheap but high performance synthetic brake fluid however it's not dot rated.

Or you're just taking your job too seriously

Sounds like the silicone stuff which I 'd replace with regular DOT 5 to be honest as its more compressible than regular brake fluid, advantages are it does have high boiling point and will never absorb water so reduce the need for bleeding also doesn't attack paintwork

Could be Mintex racing blue fluid which is very good, silicon should not be used in the system as it requires different seals and clearances.

Thanks for the replies.

It seems to have removed a bit of paint around the resovoir so I guess its not silicone.
