Generally they do use the throttle position for fuelling. Mine just uses TPS for transient fuelling adjustments (eg enrichment on acceleration), but you can use TPS as the basis for the whole load axis.
It depends which ECU and who mapped it. I know Joo favours using the TPS for the whole thing.

Does the ECU use the throttle pot readings in its calculations when managing the fuel etc, or is it just a reading that can be used for adjusting linkage, idle screw, butterflies etc
definitely yes. I had a faulty T-pot recently on one bank and it was fuel starved on that side of the engine (with the intakes pipes off, you could literally see the diference. Unplug the faulty t-pot and the ECU adapts by duplicating the good reading for both sides.

where abouts is the t-pot on sp6 engine?
Hi !
You should not move the t-pots on a speed six to adjust any values. If you down load the newer version of the diagnostic program and the manual for it you will see that the adjustment of the t-pots on a speed six is made by reseting the values in the ECU.
You can find the program and the manual here:

The two t-pots on the S6 are one on throttle 1 (in front of engine) and the second one on throttle 6 (in back of engine facing towards the bulkhead).
