I was thinking about coming back into the tvr owning club (had a chimaera before) by getting a cerbera which is what I have always wanted.

I was wondering what the situation was with regard to parts availability since the hopefully temporary demise of the firm? and will the situation get worse or continue as it is?

I don't want to be put off by this aspect but I do know tvr's do tend to need the odd spare here and there!

Seems ok to me! The clutch supply is better, new suppliers are springing up etc... I guess the only hard things are currently screens and the electric switch boxes in the boot. Everything else is pretty easy to sort eg engine bits.

I think a few of the electronic control boxes are Maplin kits. I haven't been arsed to find out exactly what's what yet but I've a couple of spares I'll have look at over the Winter. There will be nothing "Rocket Science" in any of them I suspect.

Screens are in short supply but David Gerald apparently has *some*.

Chassis are repairable. Someone mentioned there might even be new ones available but it's unconfirmed as yet.

The S6 engine is entirely available from TVR Power (if not others). Many AJP components are available, but if all else fails, an LS-conversion has been proven which knocks any worries about AJPs into a cocked hat.

So it might only be the shells themselves which are unavailable but I suspect if one is required, you've more to worryabout than parts-supply.

As the early cars are now 10ish years old, there are plenty of after market spares suppliers, and several sources of better than original kit. I haven't had a problem that some-one else hasn't already had, there is a lot of knowledge out there, certainly helped with my first year of ownership Looking forward to many more years of fun & smiles.

I've done loads of jobs to mine since I got it and I don't even have a dealer over here that I can call on.

I've had to get a couple of small bits from the UK and the "equivalent parts" thread is a great source of info regarding parts .....

..... but the people on this forum are even better .....

Thats fantastic news...although I do still worry a tad about the ajp side of things.

Engine wise things are still good?

The AJP V8 is probably the strongest part of the Cerb, it's a great engine, and would be the least of your worries.
