No idea mate, just stick the reg in here www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/ and see what it throws up. Dont think it updates very quickly, so if a plate moves about a bit, it isnt always up to date?

I use the RAC quite often for looking up registrations to relate them to cars. Recently however you can't get as much info as a few months back for free. Gone is the colour, date of first registration, number of former keepers. You now only get Make, Model, Year & cc without having to pay. Why is this or am I missing something?

Regards
Simon

www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/

This is a Govt website where you can do some minor checks for free. You need the index number and make of car.

Click on 'vehicle enquiry' then on 'next'

So if the RAC search states` that no info has been found, does that mean that the vehicle bearing the plate has been scrapped in which case the number can't be resurrected or could the number be held on a retention certificate?
