And frankly, I'm not surprised.

I've had a look at the owners handbook, and it shows the screenwash reservoir as being in the centre of the car, in front of the air con unit.

However, in reality, there's nothing there except the panel with "TVR" emblazoned on it.

However, by my powers of deduction, I've located a small hole with a plastic cap on, to the right of the car, which appears to be the screenwash reservoir.

What are you supposed to fill it up with, A syringe ?

I attempted to fill it from A watering can yesterday, and I reckon I managed to get four & half litres in to various parts of the engine bay, and probably less than an "ink jet cartridge" worth of liquid in to the reservoir.

I'm guessing A funnel may be required

Try one of these: www.walshbrothers.co.uk/watch_jewe

Has other uses too. You can wash your ears out, and when your exhaust note finally makes your ears bleed, they make great audio enhancers - one in each ear.

I agree, i spilled more than getting in to it, if only they'd moved it further across instead of underneath the air intake pipes

Mine's in the middle. I'm missing the cap to it. Nice and easy to fill up

My old Cerbie has it there aswell, plus it's a big hole & you can get a can above it.

Imagine the hole where you put the oil dipstick goes on your car, then imagine putting the hole underneath one of your air boxes, and you'll start to get the idea.

Almost makes, swapping the headlight lamp look easy.

Mine's located here

It's the exact same as the one used on the S1 Elise so perhaps a post on that forum might source the missing caps.

That's the location in pre-99 cars. Mine's right in the corner, next to the power steering filler, on the panel which is different than the one of Ireland's car.

Well, its the top of a flexible pipe that goes to the bottle which is actually located within the front bumper! And yes, I've lost the cap too.

Andy.

4 litre milk bottle top worked for a while but I think it vibrated off.

Perhaps I need a full fat one. I picked skimmed as it was red and matched the car

I kid you not when I filled mine I had to go back to the black book to see if I was doing it correctly as the hell would anything go in. I had a horrible thought I was putting water where water should not go. Saying that its slow to go in but its bl@@dy slow to come out.

Right then, funnel purchased.

However, if you try & put the screen wash in at more than a trickle, it backs up, out of the filler cap, and covers the engine bay.

It must have took 15 minutes to fill the frigger.

At one stage, I was considering setting up a hat stand next to the car, hanging a bag of screenwash off it, and leaving it overnight, with it's intravenous drip connected.

What a ball ache.

Hi Russ

Does yours not look like this then? I find it quite easy to refill.

Regards
Simon.

That's the bugger Si.

Anything more than a "drip drip", and it started backing up. And that hose down to the bottle, is ridiculously thin.

On the older cars, the bottle top is dead centre of the car, and you can just dangle a watering can over it.

Hi All

If the large white cap on the left is the washer bottle, the black screw cap on the right is the Power Steering reservoir, what is the hexagonal small white cap with the slot and rubber washer in the middle for? Is it for priming the washer pump?

Just wondered...

Regards
Simon.

Oh dear just got back from Frog and thought that I would take a troll through PH, That model has a known problem, and it is nothing to do with the bottle, there is a T pice behind the engine somewhere and it breaks or whatever? I have had it replaced twice, once by Fernies and the other time by Racing Green, trace it out and Hey Presto!!!!!

Oh and by the way you can contact me now via my e-mail in my profile

My filler is the same as yours and mine took ages to fill as well till i fixed it.
the problem was that the flexible hose was too long and created a kink or trap which meant that untill gravity leveled it out you could not put in any more. of course i had to take the wheel off and the wheel arch panel then break my arm in two places to get at the bottle to secure it again because it had popped out of its tapered housing when i tried to put the hose back on after cutting about an inch off it. it is not brilliant but it is better and all i use is a small funnel.
hope this helps.

It did, but the "visit to the hospital" part, has put me off somewhat.

Judging by the amount of time it took to fill it.... I reckon it must have took almost five litres..... for the amount of times I'm going to need to fill it up, hopefully never, I reckon I'll put up with it.

I may go for the "hat stand" option, if required.
