Hi i have a cerbera 4.2 when engine is warm i have trouble starting sounds like flat battery. When running and accelerate there is a pinking noise which makes me think its the timing. Is there anyway of adjusting? can anyone help?

How long have you had the car? How familiar are you with it's 'sounds'? The Cerb engine isn't the quietest of engines and I doubt if you would hear 'pinking' like you would on a normal car.
When you say trouble starting when warm, what trouble exactly? If you are getting just a click from the solenoid, the chances are that your starter motor is on the way out.

What fuel are you running it on?I found that both Cerbs i have owned "pinked" unless i used super-unleaded petrol

Mine was pinking after having the timing chain replaced.

They did say it would have to go back after 500 miles for adjustment, and consequently that cured it.

This probably has nothing to do with your pinking issues though

I have had the car since november.I snapped the crank in the first month of owning it. I was lucky enough to find a engine out of a fire damaged cerbera when i fitted it i had to change all the injection system off my old engine onto the new one.when i got it in and started it the left had side exhaust manifold was glowing red and was poping and banging really bad i phoned around an was told to adjust the throttle pot sensors it runs well now, good oil presure when its warm it try'es to turn over if i give it a bump it starts fine. i have tryed it on super-unleaded but still the same!

The pinking is most likley to be the cam timing being out. Mine did that when it was rebuilt last year before the timing was got right.

A good indie will be able to set it up properly for you

Jes, just had a look at your profile and saw a reference to relocated coil packs.

Relocated to where? And is this to give them a longer life by moving them to a location
with less heat build up?
