Just when I was starting think I'd got her all sorted.... She's blown a rear damper. Was driving along, nearly home and *BANG* - rear ns/wheel right up in the arch and p*ssing damper oil everywhere. A nice member of the public kindly handed me a bit of my car back and now she's parked up awaiting a flatbed to take her to Leven for fixing.

Mine did that 3 years ago. The damper snapped just after I flew past a porker. Of course he laughted as he went past me as I pulled over.

Took ages getting it on the flatbed though without damaging the back end/zorsts.

That's my concern - I have about 1mm clearance between exhaust and floor and now the damper has had time to settle, it appears to have frozen solid. BUGGER

You wont get that on the flat bed without lifting the back up somehow?

Exactly same thing happened to mine but fortunately, I was only doing about 30mph at the time. Sounded horrible as the back end dropped and the top spring seat bounced down the road past me....

It was a real mission getting her on a flatbed but even worse getting her back off again. Still, it was a good excuse to upgrade the suspension, so I did.

When mine caught fire the flatbed that came out was an amazing piece of kit. The whole of the bed slid backwards until it was flat on the ground, the car then winched onto it and the bed returned to its correct position on the lorry. Fantastic to watch, just sad the car was on it!

Bite the Bullet V8cerbera, give Derek a ring and get 4 new Gaz Gold shocks and springs fitted, no point just getting one replaced, you'll be living in fear all the time that another one will fail.

Lol, cheers Jensena. And what cost 4x new dampers? Frigging racing components... suppose that is what we get for buying a road going race car!
