CV Drive Shaft Boots
Discussion
Thanks so far to jpvipercerb for giving advice on changing the CV Boots on my SPd6 cerb. However I am a little stuck. HELP.... I have managed to release all the allen key bolts from both sides of the drive shaft (what a struggle that was when lying on your back fighting with rounded allen key bolts) and it is now lying helpless cradled in the suspension as I cannot get it through the gaps. Is there a way of extracting the whole assembly without having to dismantle everything? or do I have to release the CV from the shaft either side to bring it out through the gaps between the suspension and if so what. I am sure this is a noddy question to some but then I am not a natural mechanic - any help on this would be great.

Hi Nige,
Dont be embarassed to ask for help, you'll never know unless you ask.
However, I,m sure my shafts and cv's came out of the gap as one, easily. If your struggling perhaps take one of the joints off the shaft and it will give you more room to play with. Just take the outer circlip off the free end, if you can, unclip the small end off that boot and pull it all off, if you pardon the expression.
