The back box of my exhaust keeps grounding, so much that the bottom of one of them is wearing through.

I have the stainless sports exhaust on mine.

Does the standard back box sit higher up off the road than the aftermarket one?

If it does I may change to this as, since I de-catted mine, it is very very very loud.

It's great for tunnel runs ..... and for attracting the attention of the Gardai too.

I don't mind going quieter if it means no more grounding.

The Standard back box does sit higher, and de-cats and standard back box have a great sound, not too noisy when driving normally, and an 'angry' BARK when you rev it - lovely

I have decatted sport pipes fitted by a previous owner, and they ground out often, particularly with chubby me and a chubby mate in the car. They sit SO low that I wonder if they were either fitted poorly (not naming names) or they are constructed badly and just do not sit flush with the body cut outs at all.

When I saw the pictures of the Bosscerbera et al pipes on here the other day I was very impressed at the snug fit, they looked really good, and seemed to tick most of the boxes for practicality, track days, noise etc. So I think I'd look into that.

I like to sound off my car, but the "small-car big-exhaust" boy-racer down the road from me has a quieter exhaust than I have.

I know it pisses the neighbours off, but since I live in the countryside and am surrounded by farms, they don't complain about my car and I don't complain about their tractors working all night during silage season. grumpy grumpy

That sounds just like the situation with my car.

I thought a stainless exhaust would be the ideal one, and it was on the car when I got it, but the fit is poor.

The pipes on the Boss are the business alright.

They look very like the ones Tuscan, don't they?

Mine were scraping, so I have raised the rear suspension by 1/4 inch and changed the rear exhaust rubbers for new, seems to have done the trick

Have you the standard back box on yours?

Mine used to ground quite badley when i first got mine (decat n sports), especially when we went caming in the lakes - almost turned round and went home.
After putting the car in the air ( 4 x 8" breeze blocks ,1 under each wheel!!) , removed silences (yes thats what their called ossifer!) ,fitted Powerflex exhaust rubbers ,adjusted the hangers , oh i also expertly took a hammer to the rear top edge of the rear boxes - where they get really close to the car. No problem since - even after been airborn on our recent camping trip in the lakes.driving
