Can't get in the boot! Help...

Just tried to open the boot and nothing. No noise - tried rearming and disarming the alarm but nothing. Ive tried pushing the boot down whilst pressing the badge also. Done a search and basically there is a manual method for getting in the boot?? Please help - i only have a quarter of a tank left and that wont get me to my local indie.

Sometimes my badge does need a constant pressure for a few seconds before it works, but once it activates there is no stoping it. :-)

If the boot button/switch has failed, it can cause the control box to keep triggering the boot solenoid, this is enough to totally fry the solenoid in a matter of a few hours.

I know becuase it's happened several times on mine!

Renew switch, replace solenoid with maplins varient and hey presto all fixed.

Before i take it to my local indie is there anything i can check or possibly fix? With the boot open i can press the switch and hear a clicking noise in the control box but the bonnet catch doesnt move. Any ideas?
