any ideas what could cause a clunk in drive system when getting back on gas after a gear change. it feels almost like its taking up some slack before engaging. checked prop shaft and that seems ok. please dont tell me its a new gear box or slip diff either...
thanks in readiness

wheres the clunk coming from?

It could be the exhaust hitting something as you change gear as that's what happened on mine and i thought it was gearbox bush or something but it was just the exhaust misaligned

Most likely cause is loose diff mounting bolts. Get her on a ramp and check they're tight/take her to your favourite specialist.

Could be the mounting on the diff, that is the normal symptons a clunk when changing gear.

yes

Its the bush at the top of the diff. Its a PITA to change and the bush itself is about £6
