Brakes squeaking
Discussion
I had mine apart the other day to stop squeel
First thing is to clean of all the dust. I took a hacjsaw blade to the gap in between on the pads the cleaned them up with brake cleaner.
Then my pads were slightly larger than the disks, so they wore with 1mm ish lip on them. I filed this back and no more squeal

Not wishing to hijack the thread, but I have a tapping/rubbing noise from my offside rear
that comes on sometimes, but stops when the brakes are applied, reappearing when you come off the pedal. I'm guessing it's a loose brake pad or suchlike
- was worried it was a CV joint but that wouldn't stop with braking I think - anyone else had a similar experience?

However, I met an owner a couple of weeks back who said he'd stopped this by fitting stronger springs between the pads, the ones with the pins through.

clevor trevor sell the shims. Also make of pad contributes with some worse than others. However ultimately it is just a fairly common trait that some just chose to live with.
