Think I might need a new one fairly soon. Has anyone sorted a bullet proof OEM version rather than fork out £50 to power?

Sorry for my ignorance but I don't look like much of a mountain biker, and don't have the foggest why anyone would buy such a bike in a country with no mountains.

I was hoping that without having to remove my current cable, I could go into a bike shop and give them a part number.

Obviously because of the above observation, the less I say in a bike shop the better for all concerned smile

I consider a bike shop slightly more hostile territory even than a clothes shop.

just ask for a cable 53to54 inches long and should be perfect and hopefully you can thread it through your outer cable to save time

There were two types of ends on the cables in the shop where I got mine.

Both ends were cylindrical in shape but the one you need has the cylindrical end in-line, not at right angles to the cable.

I took pics of everything but the cable end.

I plan to get a spare cable and once I do I'll post a pic of it.

Replacing it is pretty simple.

Unfortunately its the outer cable thats gone. Bent, cracked at the bulkhead.

So I need a 53.5 inch cable with a nipple on both ends, and both longitudinal?
