Patience Wearing Thin!!
Discussion
Just need to get my whinge off my chest to people who can understand, not worth speaking to owners of 'normal' cars.
Got my 4.2 last October, did about 5k miles when the timing chain broke, fortunately covered by a warranty. Car went back to dealer for new valves etc on March 20th, got the car back after 9 weeks only for it to be leaking copious amounts of oil. Car went back to dealers on Wednesday before last (May 16th) and now it still won't be ready until (perhaps!) next week!
So I've not had the sodding thing during all the fine weather and all the Bank Holidays. I don't expect mainstream car turn around but what is the point of having it if you haven't actually got it?
Please reply with stories worse than this and at least it will help!
Thanks

I think we all sympathise...we've all had 'experiences'....
You just need to put your faith in this fact.
When you do finally get it back...and you take it out...you will forget about the nasty things she has done to you...and you will love her again...
And you will...I promise...have faith.

Will,
These cars are much underrated at driving when it isn't sunny!
You don't need to be worrying about engine temps and they are great fun
in the wet. The only time I didn't use my old one was when the roads had been salted.
I woulkd avoid the frost and ice though, that was a very interesting experience.

I think they like being tweaked, driven and tinkered with, instead of being left alone in the dark in the garage...

I have come to the conclusion ours likes the company of other tvrs, as when MOH was away at work Trev always ends up going in the garage. He will come out in time for MOH's leave, he will spend the time at home being washed, cleaned, talked to, driven and generally spoilt, then when MOH goes back to work and I don't have the time to lavish the same amount of attention on him he will sulk, break and go back to the garage.
When he went for his last service, they said 'Oh he'll only be a few days' nearly 3 weeks later Trev decides he might as well come home as MOH is due back next week.
And they say women are attention seekers
But you've got to love em.
