Finally got some centre caps for my Spiders and the rears dont fit. The rear drive shaft with a bolt of the end of it sticks out to far from the middle of the hub?

Dont use a grinder !! You will overheat the area!!!! Use a hacksaw and spend ages on it !

Not heard of this problem before - but then again I don't have spiders. Have you definitely got the right spiders and therefore offsets on your Cerb?

Yep that is normal I believe, use fronts all round and you have to trim the hubs on the back, use rear wheels on the rear and you don't have to do that but you might then get rubbing on the arches... hehe

Life's a game eh?biggrin

Good point but someone at Racing Green said that they use a grinder to do it. Use a grinding disc and not a cutting disc. If I do a bit a time so it doesn’t get to hot then I think it'll be okay.

Yeah, I have the correct offsets, 4 x fronts.

Bit worried as it looks like I will have to all the way to the bolt on one side!

I was advised by a decent garage not to use a grinder but to hacksaw. Your choice but you dont want to heat up that area !
You need to cut the bolt back to the 'crown'.

Cheers Gazzab, I'll do that then. "Back to the crown" makes sense thanks.

Did mine the other week with a grinder no problem, just take it slow. Took about 1/4 inch of the ends.

I've got 'rear' spiders on my Cerb but there's no problem at all with rubbing in the rear arches, even when fully loaded with family and a picnic! Wish I could be that lucky with the lottery numbers!
