Such a great day and i thought id take the cerb out for a play, was running fine then cough and spultter revs dropped and all was quiet, hit the start button nothing just a rapid machine gun fire noise, last time i had this the battery was flat. Got some leads on and fired up again seemed fine then the same happened. Managed to get it back home put a meter on the battery and it was dead.
Do these symptoms sound right for a flat battery or should i be aware of anything else?
The first time i had a flat and charged up all was well, im hoping its the same again, but any comments would be greatfully received.

I would have thought if the battery was dead after a run it was an alternator / charging problem, or even the big fuse as thats inline with the power cable to the alternator
Maybe charge the battery, then get the charging checked, if the alternator has gone faulty it could flatten the battery on its own.
Good luck

Happened to me a while back - sounds like the big fuse. have you noticed any erratic movements with your rev counter of late, as that is often a pre warning

Only noticed the rev counter doing funny stuff just before it all went quiet. Battery is on the conditioner over night now so will see how things look tomorrow, will check the big fuse tomorrow as well, might as well replace it at the same time to be on the safe side. Lets hope all is well.
