Had the car for a week and a half now.........

I've been working down south all week and flew back into Edinburgh last night...lovely night so took the Cerby for a spin for 10 mins...just to relax before bed ;-)

Woke this morning and popped into see a mate who had said that the car would never make it from london to Edinburgh and that it would only go 3.6 miles before it broke down. So....we got in the car today, he comments on what an amazing noise it makes and how it started 1st time....I smile smugly and we drive off. 10 mins later and the car is warm and I go to open her up and NOISE...but no power. We stop and check the engine.....all looks fine. Start again and it's worse.....so turn off the engine and as i'm calling the AA...I notice the fuel gauage is EMPTY.

I don't deserve to own this car :-)

Not your fault, you were seduced by the engine until you forgot the fuel gauge.

Lol. I've only ever done that once.... But then I find that my fuel guage is a lying b*stard anyway, so now anything under a 1/4 tank means fill it up.

I know....I think the noise has to be the most addictive thing on the planet. In an ideal world my passport would read...OCCUPATION - DRIVES TVR CERBERA'S ALL DAY. I'd be providing a public service.....allowing people to exercise their necks as I drive past.

By the way....aircon worked and now doesn't and neither do the fan controls etc...fuse 17 seems fine....any ideas anyone? :-)

Have you checked all the fuses. I think it's 14 & 18 on mine.

Or - have you been poking around underneath the dash or behind the radio? The heater control panel is all fed from a ribbon cable that runs from it and along the bulkhead behind the radio - you could have disturbed that?

Ah, but when you reach E that means Empty, there is no reserve unlike all other cars.

If you weren't aware of this then you did nothing wrong smile

My boss was in the car with me and he emailed and text EVERYONE...This was also sent round the company on Monday and my hire car when I flew to Manchester was downgraded to a CLASS A :-) I'll never live it down...

"New ‘Derek Kennedy’ special – the “DK500” from Fiat and National Car rental.

Features
• Very good fuel economy, so unlikely to run out of fuel
• If you do run out of fuel, less conspicuous when stuck in the middle of a busy road
• If you do run out of fuel, easy to push with a single person, out of the way of laughing public and friends
• Additional roof rack to hold laptop bag – requires heavy load fitting – however in this case it is advised that the customer selects the ‘extra jerry can’ option
• Optional “I’m a dumb numpty” sign for when sitting on the side of the road waiting for mates to walk back with fuel"

I just went to fill up. Opened the boot and....... no fuel cap eek. Which can only mean that I've done 200 miles without a cap.

I've also noticed that the car only uses fuel when you're not using it. Drive a few miles, fuel guage stays where it was, park up, start the car again and hey presto, you've lost 1/8 tank of gas frown
