ECU help please!!
Discussion
Hello all,
I’m hoping that the PH collective can shed some light on my Cerb's problem. I've noticed that over the last few months there seemed to be a slow degradation in power and that it was labouring badly under 2200 rpm.
The chugging under 2200 rpm has made 5th all but redundant on anything other than the motorway and according to the rolling road figures from Saturday she's putting out 299 bhp. I knew she was down a bit but losing 50-60 bhp is a lot!
To try to eliminate the problem I've fitted new leads, coil packs and lambda sensors and it's not made a jot of difference. Also fitted a sports system with linked de-cats as the old exhaust was on it's way out and I thought it was worth a try - also, no difference.
Here are some screen shots from the laptop:

Help please, I'm at a loss as to what to try next

Check the throttle pot setting, there's a section on how to do it in the help file on the ECU software.
Bear in mind on these cars the throttle position determines the amount of fuel and spark it chucks in.
Might also be worth taking out the crank position sensor and giving it a clean

Max - Give Steve Howard at Euphoria racing a ring - 01494 761555. He's in High Wycombe, an hours drive from Gloucester.
Great Guy and knows Cerb's inside out, not just setting them up, but he has the skill and the knowledge to pinpoint exactly what is wrong, and doesn't mind you hanging about and watching what he's doing, you'll learn a lot from him.

Or Neil Garner at Kembrey is closer... Not a recognised TVR specialist like Euphoria, but he now services a lot of TVR's and his work is spot on.

Thanks Alan, I'll give him a call.
I'll have a look at the throttle pots this evening, I have a funny feeling that they're sitting at about 18 when fully closed.
Mine were sitting this high and the adaptives were miles out, so closed them right down to around 12.3 - not text book but car runs pretty well at the moment.I'll have a look at the throttle pots this evening, I have a funny feeling that they're sitting at about 18 when fully closed.

Then it occured to me, it sounds a touch odd - but then again the flat plane crank does sound strange to begin with.
Then some basic maths - it's putting out 300 bhp, divide by 7, then times by 8 = 342bhp, a lot more like it.
So, I think it might only be running on 7, but to be honest I think I'd notice something like that.
But I'll have a go disconnecting the injectors in turn to see if it makes a difference.

What are adaptives reading on both banks when the engine is fully warmed up and idling.
Also what is it idling at when fully warmed up?

I'll take some readings and let you know, cheers. Also what is it idling at when fully warmed up?

Tried disconnecting the injectors in turn, seems to be running on all eight.
But I did notice that it ran much rougher when an injector on the drivers side was disconnected when compared to the passenger.
