Just going through some old magazines ( not those ) and found an artical about the Cerbera,i could't remember reading before and thought some would find of interest.

Magazine = Which Car - Sportscars - 1994.

Quote " One or two unusual features distinguish the Cerbera. We point to the exteriour door handles, but - there arn't any.In their place, TVR has installed a speacial electronic system linked to the alarm. Once the alarm is disarmed you simply tap on the outside of the door, and it opens! Very neat indeed".

Ive not heared of this before, the artical also says the engines will be the 4.0 & 5.0 litre out of the Chimaera.

This must have been very early information on the car.

Maybe they meant 'tap the button underneath the wing mirror'?

I read something somewhere recently (may have been a very old copy of Autocar), that there was a flexible pannel that you pressed on to open the door.

I'll see if I can find it again.....

I remember watching something about that on TV...maybe even the devil himself (Clarkson)...I reckon it was more of a spoof...with him tapping with his left hand whilst cunningly pressing the entry button with his right...an old magician distraction trick ;-)

The original show cars had this, I remember going to the motor show that year and knocking on the door to be let in....

I think TVR decided the system was problematic enough without this as well and used the button instead

Maybe they meant thump it when it gets an intermittent fault?
