Do I need to fit the lock nut on the speedo sensor?



Looks about 25mm/1 inch.....

What size is the outer one as the lock nut looks a size up on that, if that's a 17mm then I would say 19mm or if 15/17. Not many fittings used on cars over 19mm, then again it is a TVR

The one on the end of the sensor is 19mm.

Any idea what the gap (sensor/toothed wheel) should be?

not many spanners come above that as standard, next size up would be 22mm, time for the metric adjustable pipe wrench .

No sorry don't know what the gap is for the sensor..
