OK. My first niggle is with the passanger door.
I open it and the window goes down further than the drivers door. (about 3/4 of the way) I close it and it goes up but stops about 1cm from the top!
I have disconnected the 2 block on the left hand side of the balck box in the boot for 10mins and the reconnected them. (Didn't disconnect the right hand side larger connecters)
It works fine the first time round but try it again and she goes back to doing it again! Also it will close the rest of the way if I manualy do it from inside or when I alarm her.
Any ideas?
Thanks all

Are you sure it isn't just the door seal getting too tight at the top? Mine does that too - perhaps it is from the lack of use (mostly only myself in the car).

It will close if I use the button inside and when you alarm the car but not when you close the door unless it has been used a few times (open and close the door 3-4 times). Then it frees up.

Happens to me occasionally, especially if I get out with the window partly down. I have 2 methods. Sometimes it closes the last inch or so if I arm the alarm. The other method is to get back in the car, close the door, then use the window up button to raise the window fully whilst inside. Get out and close the door and it usually goes all the way up.

This may sound strange but is your battery fully charged.
On mine - if its been standing for a few days without being used I have to push the mirror button twice before the door releases from its catch. Take it for a run and its fine. I also found that connecting it up to the Accumate also ensures that everything remains in good order.

Maybe this helps

You get this behaviour if the microswitch at the front edge of the door doesn't work - usually because the connector has corroded. But it might be the metal lever snapped off.

Try closing the windows fully, then disconnect the black window control box in the boot for 30 seconds, then re-connect.

Mine does this. Either from the outside getting in or the inside getting out, it always leaves about 1cm on the passenger door. This is okay as from within the car it can be closed by window switch and outside, alarming it closes the last little bit.

BUT

If the window is fully open and you lock the car, it only goes up about 3inches and stops there. The drivers door window is fine, closes all the way.

Thanks for all you comments. I have tried the trick by disconnecting the black box for 30 secs. This works the first time but as I said before, try it again and she goes back to her ways.
Now, the micro switch.. Is this inside the door?? If so how do I get to it and what am I looking for when I get there?
Thanks for all you help.

Remove the door lining panel, (hex head screws around the outside), be careful of the cables that are joined to it.

With the door open you'll see the microswitch at the hinge end near the top.

Check the lever is still there, check the cable from it isn't corroded at the multi-way plug.

If the switch is intact, move the window up and down manually and observe how the microswitch works. When the window is up the switch is relaxed, when the window comes down a few inches it should push the lever enough to operate the switch.

You might be able to adjust the position of the switch, or pack it out with a washer or two.

But I suspect your switch has failed completely. Its a cheap, universal microswitch available from Maplin or RS Components.

Well the problem has now gone. Well that is if the Mrs opens it!

Started her up for a trip to Helfords, warmed the ol'girl up for a bit. I reverse off the drive and the Mrs walks over to the car, at this time I'm waiting for the window to play up rolleyes......
eek It worked!
I say to the Mrs " Open and shut that door again" It works again!
Hmmmmm
Get to Helford, she gets out......Works AGAIN!!!!

Problem solved. Gone away. Joy. She gets back in, still working.
Gets home still working!
Turn off engine, I get out and try!!!!! YOU TART!curse
