Draining cooling system?

Decided to give the old girl a dose of the Holts.
Run for 30 miles flush drain etc etc.
However, where is the best place to open up the system.
I've noted the big hose on the off side, but it seems that the entire contents will empty themselves into the conveniently placed drip tray/water holding receptacle under the rad.
Is there anywhere else? or has anyone got a top tip?

i emptied mine by pulling the smaller hose off the metal pipe that attaches to the big rubber hose that attaches to the lower part of radiator.
a bit spewed out into the old plastic dish washing thing from the sink i used as a 'short' bucket and then stopped after a liter or so had come out. i could then regulate the flow by opening/closing the cap on the expansion tank.
