Getting my p&j back monday after gearbox trouble in germany, gear/s on outputshaft gone! anyone replaced these gears before? i've found the parts but have not done any internal gearbox work on the car yet so will be learning as i go!! (have proffessional help on hand if things get complicated tho!)

strangely enough the car developed an oil leak from somewhere around the oil cooler at the same time! anyone had a similar leak or know where i can get an oil cooler from?

seem to spend more time working on the car than driving it at the mo but i am v fussy and at 10 years old nearly and 4.5 years of (relatively) trouble free driving she's doing supurbly well and still keeps me on my toes every outing!!

btw if anyone wants to reduce body roll on trackdays, i recently bought eibach springs rated 700lb front & 475lb rear put them on my nitrons and they work wonders!!

How do the springs feel on normal road driving? I'm about to change my suspension setup.

the ride is quite harsh, which i don't really mind but i don't do that many road miles at the mo. i have nitrons set 12 clicks from soft which is ok for track and road but i don't think the ride would improve if set any softer. if you do a lot of road miles i wouldn't recommend springs this stiff unless you are prepared to swap back to std after trackday. i'm doing a trip to and around switzerland end july and will be putting std springs back on for that!

Have to agree, my 500 fronts and 350 rears are good for the road but after Spa I would say they are too soft for the track. I might get away with just upping the rear and putting the ARB back on there but there was still a lot of movement in the front too.

Ridds, have you got the rose-jointed drop links?? I still can't get my head round how removing the rear ARB won't create significantly more body roll, as it is effectively halving the effective spring rate......... isn't it????????

Surely you're meant to increase the rear spring rate a fair bit to compensate??

Well I've got 375lb rear springs on mine WITH the ARB on, and I guess most nitron equipped Cerbs run similar or less rates with the rear ARB removed.

What's the standard rate?

I was planning to stick to about standard with Nitrons, and the rose jointed droplinks with the ARB. I don't plan to trackday too much, so I mostly want a good setup for the road. My trackday use will be for getting used to the car with new setups etc.

My nitrons running 375 rear and 450 front. Precious little roll on the trackdays.

I keep my rear antirollbar on and well greased. Didn't like things when I took it off. I would suggest a good deal higher than 375 on the rear if removing it. frown

Thats why I just bought a Balco A100 wheel alignment kit from ebay today smile

Although smile well and truly wiped off my face when I realised that the light doesn't shine under the body the way its supposed to because the body's too low frown
