How many have mounted a sub in the helmet hole? if so, did you have a sealed enclosure made to fit in there, or did you try using the helmet hole AS the sealed enclosure?

Well whether you do that or not depends upon the type of driver you're going to put in.

Most bass drivers need a large enclosure behind them, so the cavity that's there might be OK.

Some drivers however are designed to be used in small enclosures. I got one of the latter, made by Focal. In my last Cerb I mounted it in a new fascia replacing the helmet hole, using all the cavity as its enclosure.

It didn't work very well, as the enclosure was too big. It just flapped about sounding farty. I'm in the process of making a new fascia for the driver the the current car, which will use the helmet hole as the enclosure.

got on in the helmet hole. It isn't great since you have to make up a plate to fix the sub on then screw it through the existing material on the helmet bay.

However, it kicks - and the kids think it's the coolest thing ever.

so who am I to move it!

I've got one of the small pioneer powered subs in there to just add a little bass fill in. It works well. I mounted it in the bottom of the helmet holder so there's still space for rear seat occupants to put PSP's etc in it.

It's still covered with the carpet at the moment, but that's about to get replaced with thinner carpet.
