Had the Cerb almost four years and spent a fortune on upgrades (Nitrons, emerald, whirlwind , brakes).
I work overseas and really only get to drive it for four months a year but over the next year or so I will probably only get a couple of weeks to drive it.
Love the car but not sure if leaving it for so long will be good for it.
Anyone left one for so long, or do I sell and get another one in a couple of years.
Was going to sell it last year and get a cobra but was talked out of it !!!.

ps hope all you guys kick some arse at fighting torque (I will be out of the uk otherwise I wouldve been there)

Leaving them standing for a long time isn't particularly good for them, but only you can decide if you want to sell it. But the best time to sell a car is when you don't want to sell it. Advertise it at the price you want, and just don't drop. If it goes your happy because you got a good price for it, if it doesn't sell your still happy cos you have the car.

I'm in the same situation as you, only getting to drive the Cerb six or so times a year. I leave it garaged and on a trickle charge without any problems.

I certainly don't want to sell it.

Ray, as I said at the time, it's a fabulous car and ought to sell at the price you advertised it for last year IMO.

I actually wish I could convince someone local to me to buy it off you. It'd compliment mine a treat on runs around here.

Should you sell? Dunno... I have gone for 18 months without a toy car before and it was heartbreaking. I originally sold up for 100s of reasons but one was that I'd stopped using it as much as it probably deserved, however during that time without a toy car, I only needed to watch a decent movie with a car chase and I felt lost. Now (with one in the garage) when watching said movie, even if I *don't* actually go out in the Cerb, I feel happier knowing it's there in case the urge grips me really hard.

And for those occasions when I do go for a blast... Wow. smile

Hi there mars,
Pleased to hear your loving your car , keep seeing you on the forums.
I will be watching to see how you and your car go in august at fighting torque.
Dont know if you recall but I have the to wheeled toys in the garage also so same with them really. I would rather add to the collection than get rid of it but hey ho.

Getting a new job sounds a great idea (are you recruiting).

As for taking it with me, modified landcruisers are pretty much the tool to use for my job and not much different when not working.

Thanks for your replies.
Ray
