Yesterday evening, 1 mile from home, pootling in 3rd gear at about 30mph, lots of nasty noises from the rear (of the car) and no drive! Major service done only a few hundred miles ago, including diff being sent away for new seals. Will be interesting to hear what the dealer says.....

I think I see the problem. Whilst you were chomping on a Yorkie Bar you have inadvertantly driven up a the back of a flat bed pick-up and some rascal has tethered your wheels. The pranks people get up to..hehe

Seriously, best of luck. I find your picture discomforting. Seen it for real twice myself this year and I've still not got over the trauma. I dare any Cerb owner to look at this for more than a minute without reaching for a kleenex

I like my car, but it's not THAT sexy! wink

It is very upsetting though, think this is the third time in my 7 years of ownership it has been on a flat bed.

Driveshaft is my guess. smile

It'll have drive, but only slightly and it wont sound pleasant... but it'll get you from bologne to folkstone so you can call the RAC if you really really must. smile

Was indeed the driveshaft. Apparently the bolts holding it on had come loose, probably because they had not been tightened up enough! Not very clever if you ask me!

I've been on a flatbed twice since October. Upsetting it is, but we accept this risk with our beauties. Is the dealing taking responsibility for the 'shaft or are they making you pay?

The dealer has taken responsibility, but I was still not impressed! Could have been a major pain if I had been further from home/dealer.
