Didn't get much of a response before but come on guys has anyone had a faulty centrl locking where the system locks all the time? Alarm on or off?

Think it might be the boot doors/locking control box in the boot, anyone got one spare I could try (South Essex) or know one for sale so I could try one out it out?

You are more than welcome to head over and try mine, i'm in Woodford Green. Mine sometimes locks itself and shuts the windows if I open the passenger side while driving but i'm assuming that's a prob with box inside door.

Actually come to think of it i've got a suspectly faulty light control box (lights always on) and wanted to swap as as a test.......so maybe mutually convenient ;-)

Have you checked the connection to the box?

Problems like this tend to be a voltage/current problem usually casued by dodgy contacts. My headlights were a nightmare and the connector had become hot so i performed the hard wire trick and they work perfectly now.

Well I've had the box apart and all connectors appear clean and good. I had a faulty light/indicator box during the winter and it was obvious that a connection had blown and I got a new box, i suspect it is the switch shorting. May try and get the switch off this evening and check wires.

Also will recheck every fuse (again).

Cheers for the offer.

I might just do that - but a bit wary of driving too far! from Thorpe Bay to yours isn't exactly a free flowing drive. hehe

Cheers guys. Just spoke to Racetech and the boxes aren't being made anymore - but can be repaired, if you send them off.

I'll put the feelers out to the breakers too! Maybe someone else has one in stock. PH'ers have any ideas?

So i really need to make sure mine is busted. Buffoon, Hugepiece thanks for the offers to help - i really appreciate it. Convienient time we could pop and see either of you then PM me. Ta.

Huge - you are more than welcome to try my light box, but perhaps we could meet a little closer? It's just a real pain to keep (breaking) into the Cerb and i don't particulalry want to advertise the method to the great unwashed - so am not using the car at all at the mo.

Saw a nice green cerb with grey/green interior in central Southend today not seen it before private plate B** i tyhink - almost flagged you down!

I did call around the breakers regarding boxes but they want 70-80 quid plus vat for each of them so I didnt bother as they are not returnable. Thought id do more testing first. I know that LEVEN also offer a rebuild service on the boxes, not sure of the turnaround time.

I'm likely to be down in Hadleigh to see family in a couple of weekends time so will PM you to see if we can sort out a good time to do some testing!
