Yes, infact there should be a small hose going in there, from the fuel tank

If its a 4.2 and that is the left hand air box it should have a small push on pipe fitting in the hole, there will be a small bore piece of rubber pipe near it (probablly with the fibre glass pipe fitting still in the end) I thought it went to the ecu for barometric pressure reading.
Just glue/fibreglass it back into the airbox, but don't block the centre hole up.

Yes thats it, its not from the tank but to the ECU

Ok, I've located the hose and sealed it to it's place.
When we're on the subject missing hoses, should there be a hose here?

No, that's the fuel pressure regulator, the side with the pipe on is fuel pressure then there's a diaphram (can't spell) then a spring to control the fuel pressure in the fuel rail. The back side is just open to atmosphere.
