Considering going to take a look, but it's a 400 mile round trip, so any heads-up will be very much appreciated!
I hear good things about Offords..
Thanks!

havn't seen the car but I really don't like the look of the seats either, don't forget it may be hard to shift on as it doesn't have leather! Infact I didn't even know you could order the car without leather, i've certainly never seen another one like it.........maybe there is a reason for that.
If you were to make the round trip, you could also view this beauty too:

Not that I'm biased or anything :-)

Biased? - Perish the thought...http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/180676.htm

Nice looking cerb btw Shirky... Trouble is that 15k would be eating into my contingency fund. Would have to save up a little more. Don't want to be labelled a 'tyre-kicker'

If u ll base your decision 2 c the car.or not on the interior opinions then goodluck 2 u. have u considered that the price of it may b low just because of the interior and chassis &engine may b spot on? If not then go by one with nice leather that maybe a dog underneath. What I'm trying 2 say is don't judge tvrs by their cover but the more imporant stuff. U can buy leather seats from a breaker for a few quid but not a new engine

I think this actual car was featured in one of the classic/sportscar mags either this month or last month - I'll have a look. Either way, if it is the same car, the mag was very complimentary about itConsidering going to take a look, but it's a 400 mile round trip, so any heads-up will be very much appreciated!

To be honest, the interior didn't even cross my mind, but since it was brought up as a possibly suspicious aspect of the car I'm not sure I'd like to trek across the country to find out that it was actually a kia nexia with a body kit and a TVR badge Edited by QuiteQuietCerb on Friday 20th July 20:02

the good news is that the wife seems to like the look of it, and opinion seems split on here which is enough to make me want to see the car for myself...
RV - I would definitely be interested to know if you dig out that article..!
I test drove this car last weekend and it certainly is not a dog. I was told it was one owner from new, had a relatively recent engine rebuild due to a snaped distributor jack shaft, and would be fully serviced before a sale was completed including replacing one diff bush that was worn. It drove beautifully and seemed (in my very limited experience!) to be well setup and responsive. Unfortunately neither I nor mor importantly my wife could live with that interior, otherwise you wouldnt have had the option of looking at it because I would have had it!!

Well weather permitting, and assuming it's not sold, I think I will go take a look. So how 'bad' is the interior? HTH

I found the article, its actually in August 2007 issue of classic cars, but as it happens its a different car. Sorry. Similar colour and also for sale at Offords, but the one in the mag has cream leather interior and is up for £13995.
Thanks RV. might be worth a look too, but it would mean a chunk of money from the contingency budget..skoff said:

It isnt bad as such - it is in good nick and the suede type finish certainly grips you better than leather, but personaly I dont like the look or more importantly, the feel of it. YMMV, it is a very personal choice.Peter

Say what? Distributor jackshaft??? eh? Ask to see the rebuild invoice and see if there is any mention of a distributor jackshaft.
