Melted fuse/troublesome wiperfuntion

Got a melted fuse today. Radio stopped working (not that I would use it a lot), windscreenwipers stopped and the windscreenwasher also.
I experienced that the wipers were to sticky to the windscreen and the motor did not seem to have the power to get them going.
Looked in the owners manual and saw that this fuse should be a 20amp and the one that was in was a 30amp. Completely melted. I still have to get the pins out of the box.
Good news of today was that the Cerb was totally ok for the Dutch registration and in 3 weeks I can give it a real go.

I suggest taking a good look at your wiper motor immediately. If your wiring is the same as mine, there is a danger the fault will damage your steering column control box which is on the same fuse(difficult to find spares and time consuming to repair).
My wipers were causing problems, then the fuse went, taking the control box with it. There is a chap selling remanufactured upgraded wiper motors on ebay.
If I get time today I'll post lots of photos of the wiper motor damage and control box.

Fusebox (nr.16 fuse)was damaged. "Cleaned" it as good as possible and fitted a 15amp fuse again. Wipers worked again with the blades lifted off the windscreen in all speeds. Radio worked again and my windscreenwasher also.
On the outside I saw nothing on the wipermotor. By the way Clevor Trevor is also selling motors for cerbs. Is the Lucasmotor a thing that causes problems quickly?? Did you also had the problem that the motor did not seem to have the power to sweep the blades?
