Am I missing something?!
Discussion
No your not missing anything, thats how it is meant to be. But don't worry your not the first to think that
Resetting the ECU? Depends what you mean by re-set. Disconecting the battery wont have any effect. But you can connect the ECU to a laptop and re-set all the adaptive's. The adaptives are what the ECU has 'learnt' from the various input variables over the last 'x' miles. Re-setting them simply starts the 'learning' process from scratch.
PS Re the adaptive explanation, amateurs like me come on in attempt to help a fellow Cerb owner, the experts sit back and smile at our attempts, so I'm sure one will be along soon to correct me - they usually do! (but thats' how we all learn)

No way. You have confirmed what I thought with regards to the ECU.
As for the unconnected object that was pointed out to me by a TOP MAN
called Mark who also helped in a big way today by replacing the upper ball joint and showing me how to realy use my right foot! Big thanks again Mark.
We have the sofwear CD so now off to find a laptop!
Thanks again for your help JensenA.
